Project to Provide upstream support for the development of the enabling environment for geothermal resources

Geothermal energy is the major renewable energy source available to the country to reduce the high cost of electric energy, and develop and new export product to enhance economic development. The assistance will help the Government develop the necessary capacity and information to facilitate development of the geothermal energy

Development of a 10 MW Geothermal Power Plant

To provide base load power to substitute for diesel generated base load and supplement hydro-electricity capacity. Resource assessment exercises has confirmed significant geothermal potential well in excess of the country needs.   The initial project is for the development of a project to meet domestic needs. The development of geothermal to replace imported diesel for power generation is expected to significantly reduce the cost of power and improve reliability and performance of the electricity services in the country

Installation of PV System to Provide ice, refrigeration, and lighting to support local fisher folks

The project is to provide 1 ton of ice per day, cold storage space for two to three days of catch.
